The INSIGHT Project team is celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, by highlighting the collaborative power of female scientists: a recent publication entitled ‘Advancing chemical safety assessment through an omics-based characterization of the test system-chemical interaction’ has been almost exclusively co-authored by an all-female research team and published in the special issue on ‘Women in Nanotoxicology’ in the journal ‘Frontiers of Toxicology’.
‘Why Science? A word to be discovered! From tiny things such as nanomaterials to a real environment solution. … International environment, you have the chance to get close to scientists all over the word with different nationalities and cultures what is really enriching. You never stop learning!’
[Beatriz Alonso Rodríguez, Kivorno]
‘After the chemistry degree I decided to do a PhD in Organic Chemistry because I loved working in the lab and discovering new molecules. After the PhD a got a position in a Company specialised in graphene so I had the opportunity to discover the science from a industrial perspective. Both positions have been very enriching, I have known so many different people and learned so many things about different technologies. The best part of it is that I have yet a lot to discover in this exiting journey.’
